TRACING LONDON'S HIDDEN RIVERS

Walking, drawing, a bit of history, making new friends, and a drink in the pub, what could be better?

A regular weekend walk along hidden London rivers (walks of 4 to 8 miles). Participants convene at one spot and are given a route map with printed information about the history of the old river.

We walk together and then at specific points along the route participants are encouraged to stop and draw for 20 to 30 mins.

Practical drawing advice is provided throughout.

The walk ends in a pub, where everyone’s work gets looked at and photographed. The final images are posted on the AE blogsite.

Participants are charged £10 each, plus extra for materials. A sliding scale would be set up so that anyone with a low income would get to do the walk for nothing. Everyone gets an A3 sheet of hardboard to be returned at the end of the activity.

Plenty of potential funders for this kind of thing.
